NX integration with Teamcenter

 1. Installing Solid Edge

 Prerequisite of installation

•         The Teamcenter rich client, 2-tier or 4-tier, is installed on your computer.

•          Your license file includes the Teamcenter Integration for Solid Edge (SEEC).

•          You are logged in to an account belonging to the Windows Administrator group.

•         Previous versions of Solid Edge Embedded Client are removed before beginning the Solid Edge 2019 installation.

Installation

•         Click Solid Edge2019 setup file, and the InstallShield Wizard assists in the installation of the software.

•          Read the License Agreement, and select

1.      I accept the terms in the license agreement

2.      give path as per req of installation directory.

3.      give path of lic. file.

4.      click on Install.

•          After click on Install feature of SW start installing.

•           Click Finish

•           (Optional) If you did not specify a license file earlier in the process, you can run the Solid Edge License Utility by choosing Start→ Siemens Solid Edge 2019→License Utility and then specify your license optionce

•          Solid Edge is successfully installed, you are ready to use the Teamcenter Integration for Solid Edge (SEEC) to manage your documents in a 4-tier or 2-tier implementation.

 Verifying your installation

•          After installation of SW open it from icon, click on ok.

•          As we open it by using SEEC lic file, thats why when we open it after installation, there is TC icon in SW UI as shown.

•          when you click on click here to sign in... , its show error msg because at this stsage it not integrated with TC.

 Prepare Teamcenter environment

Before installing Solid Edge with the Teamcenter Integration (SEEC), ensure your Teamcenter

environment is ready on both the server and client side:

 Apply SEEC Feature Packages

•           Start the Teamcenter Environment Manager (TEM)

•           On the Select Features dialog box, click Browse and locate the \SEEC Administrator\SEEC Feature Packages\SEECFeaturePackageTc<version> folder, where Tc<version> represents your installation of Teamcenter. Select feature_seec.xml.

 On the Select Features dialog box, under Extensions, select Teamcenter Integration for Solid Edge Feature Package from the feature list.

•          In the Database Template Summary dialog box, you should see the template named Solid Edge Embedded Client Feature Package, and the template file seec_template.xml

Output of Integration

open TC and check SE icon button is there or not.

Configuring Solid Edge Embedded Client as a 2-tier client

 Select Start→Siemens Solid Edge 2019→Choose PDM Integration→Define Teamcenter Environment

 Select the 2-Tier check box under Teamcenter Environments URL and enter a database

description.

 Click Add

 Enter the location of your Teamcenter 2-tier rich client Application folder (TC_ROOT).

□ Enter the location of your Teamcenter data folder (TC_DATA).

□ Click OK

A new row is added to the table

  Click OK to save the changes.

When you are prompted to log on to Teamcenter, select the 2-tier connection from the database

Importing Templates of SE

Goto Start→Siemens Solid Edge 2019→Choose PDM Integration→teamcenter tab→ click on Templates

click on  Login.. and then insert credential of dba group user, like infodba to login→ click Sign In→ Import

After that  SE Templates started impoting and after importing wizard open as shown.

Item creation in SE

 Go to Start→Siemens Solid Edge 2019→Solid Edge 2019→ Click on Click here to sign in...→ insert credential of infodba and select 2-Tier in server section→ Sign In→ Ask for set preferance ,just click ok.

After login user name, group, and role shown

Click left top corner to creat new  Item.

In New Creation Wizard

1. select Mesurment Unit Std Templates

2. Choose what type of CAD file you have to make.

3. Click ok  to make file.

After click on ok  new Object window open Where you can create drawing, part, assembly as you selected before.

1.click on FRONT

2. draw drawing using Sketching tools, and make a part using tool in Home tab.

When you save this file,  Here it ask for Item id, Item name, rev Id etc in new window.

after put all values, click on Perform Action.

To check result that, item created in TC or not

Goto TC and if it already open then refresh window.

Configuring Solid Edge Embedded Client as a 4-tier thin client

Again Select Start→Siemens Solid Edge 2019→Choose PDM Integration→Define Teamcenter Environment

1. Add url of 4Tier thin client.

2. Give name as per convinience.

3. Click on Add .

4.  click ok.

When you are prompted to log on to Teamcenter, select the 4-tier thin connection from the database.

Open SW and click on click here to sign in...  login wizard open wher you have to put id and paaword of TC. in Event section 2-Tier is selected, when webthin client or AWC client add, it shown in  this section.
